Logging Your Activity
This guide covers everything you need to know about logging miles and activities in a Racery virtual race — from the basics of submitting your first log to backdating, editing, and understanding activity conversions.
How to Log Miles
Log your activity under the Log Miles (or Log Activities) tab on your virtual race page. You can find your race page via any email from Racery, or by logging in at racery.com and selecting your race from the avatar menu (top right).

Backdating Activities
Forgot to log yesterday? No problem. Go to the Log Miles or Log Activities tab, pick the correct date, enter your activity, and hit Submit.
If you have multiple days to catch up on, log each day separately so your motivational stats (like streaks and longest workout) stay accurate.
Editing & Deleting Logs
On Desktop or Android
Click the gear icon (or the “v” icon) on the right side of any log entry. You’ll see options to delete the activity. After deleting, you can resubmit with the correct information.
On iOS (Racery App)
- Open the menu (top left)
- Tap My Logs
- Find the relevant log and tap its date
- Tap Delete and confirm
- Submit a new log with the correct data
Activity Conversions
Many Racery races accept 80+ activity types — yoga, swimming, cycling, dancing, and more. In these “activity conversion” races, minutes of exercise are converted into route miles based on effort, not literal distance.
This means an hour of swimming ≈ an hour of cycling ≈ an hour of running in route miles. The goal is to keep the playing field level for everyone.
Why does cycling seem “short”?
In an activity conversion race, an hour of cycling may only add ~6 route miles even though you actually covered 21 miles. That’s because the conversion is based on effort, not distance traveled. In cyclist-only races, every actual mile counts.
How is the math calculated?
Racery combines various academic resources that convert activities into steps, which are then used to calculate route miles. Some race sponsors use custom conversion tables. Check your race’s About section for details.
Stickers & Milestones
Racery awards virtual stickers when you hit distance milestones like 26.2 miles, 100 miles, or 1,000 miles. The first time you cover each distance, you automatically earn the sticker.
After the first time, each sticker type is only re-awarded when you cover that distance in fewer days than before. Miles carry over across races, so long-time Racery athletes can accumulate hundreds of miles toward these milestones.
Logging Deadlines
Races generally end at 23:59:59 Eastern Time on the race’s end date. Only activities logged before this cutoff count toward the final standings.
Racery sends warning emails two days before the race closes and on the closing day itself. Check the About tab on your race page for the exact end date.
Tips & Common Questions
Can I log mileage in bulk?
We recommend against it. Bulk uploading disrupts race statistics, the leaderboard, and your personal achievement stats. Instead, backdate each day separately using the Log Miles tab.
Should I log all my daily steps?
Racery encourages logging intentional exercise — periods when you go out of your way to be active. Each race has its own rules, so check the About section for your specific event.
I ran 105 miles but wasn’t allowed to log it
Racery has a daily mileage cap to prevent accidental typos (like logging 150 instead of 15). If you genuinely completed a very long activity, email team@racery.com and the team can input it manually.
Can my family use my account?
Technically yes, but all their miles will show as yours, which other racers may not consider fair. Check with your race sponsor about the rules for your event.
