Uniteam Mode
Overview
Uniteam mode pools each team member's individual miles to advance a shared team avatar along the virtual route. Instead of racing individually, the team collaborates to cover the distance together.
How Uniteam Works
In uniteam mode, every activity logged by a team member contributes to the team's total distance. The team shares a single avatar on the map that moves forward as members log miles.
Individual contributions are still tracked — each member can see how much they've personally contributed to the team's progress. But the competition happens at the team level: which team finishes the route first?
Team Sizing
The ideal team size depends on your route length and race duration. A good formula:
Route miles ÷ (2.5 miles per racer per day × number of race days) = ideal team size
For example, a 500-mile route over a 4-week (28-day) race:
500 ÷ (2.5 × 28) = ~7 racers per team
Tip: Teams of 6-20 racers tend to work best. Smaller teams create stronger bonds; larger teams handle absenteeism better.
Super Team
For very long routes (15,000+ miles), you can enable super team mode — all participants' miles across all teams roll into one shared avatar. The entire organization works together to complete the route as a single unit.
This creates an extra sense of collaborative endeavor. Participants see their personal efforts directly contribute to something bigger than themselves.
Use Cases
- Factory teams across Europe: Each location forms a uniteam, competing to see which site is most active
- Charity races: Teams of supporters collectively cover a cross-country route
- Company-wide super team: All employees contribute to one avatar traversing a 20,000-mile global route
